Quadra Island Food Guide
Eat Fresh & Local! Brought to you by the ICAN Food Security Team
This food guide is intended to connect producers of food products on Quadra Island with consumers seeking local food. It is intended to:
- assist Quadra residents and visitors to locate locally produced food
- assist farmers and producers to market their product
- encourage a local food culture on the island
- provide resources for those wishing to produce their own food
The products included are primarily produced on Quadra Island. That is, elements of the product are locally grown or processed to create that product.
Items included are focused on food – either marketed in their primary state (vegetables, meat) or processed (jam, sausage, herbal tea blends). Products that assist in the creation of food are also encouraged (for example, nursery plants). Producers listed in the Food Guide do not imply endorsement of or guarantee regarding any of the products listed.
If you would like to be included in the Food Guide, please contact the ICAN Food Security Team at quadraicanfoodteam@gmail.com. There is no charge for inclusion, but donations are encouraged!

This is a unique breed genetically unconnected to any other goats in the Americas, originally discovered on San Clemente Island in California and almost driven extinct by the US Navy which used the island for training.
