Canning 101

The GC/ICAN Food Security Team present another LEARN Food Security
workshop. Canning Basics will be held from 10am to noon on October
22, 2022.

Learn the fundamentals of water bath canning in a hands-on workshop.
Instructors Tara Taylor and Kathy Young have many combined years of
food growing and preservation to share with our community. This
outdoor workshop will teach you how to use canning tools to safely
preserve your harvest. Each participant will receive a jar of fresh
salsa verde.  Participation is limited so apply early! To register
email quadraicansociety@gmail.com Workshop location will be provided
upon registration.

Learn:

  • Safe water bath canning basics
  • Sanitation, equipment, methods and steps for successful food preservation

  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Cash donation
